National Hospitality Week is scheduled for October 15th – 21st, but everyone is welcome to participate in serving local child welfare staff any time between October 1st and November 3rd.
National Hospitality Week is a collaborative effort between WinShape Homes and other organizations to acknowledge the important work of a Child Welfare Staff Member. Our goal is to encourage Child Welfare staff in their faithful service to children and families.
The work is difficult and job retention of child welfare staff across the nation is alarmingly low. According to research, disruptions in casework services or changing of staff significantly decreases the chance a child has in achieving permanency for their case (Murphy, Van Zyl, Collins-Camargo, & Sullivan, 2012).
While the work of these community members often goes unnoticed, we want Child Welfare staff in our community to know that we see them and are joining forces with other organizations to offer appreciation and prayer for their staff. Our hope is that by encouraging and supporting these front-line Child Welfare staff, we can ultimately impact the lives of children.
